Beattie Court is a unique, spacious and beautifully appointed 3 bedroom apartment situated along Rothesay’s seafront. It was orignally constructed as the Royal Aquarium in 1875 and was the first public aquarium in Scotland. The aquarium closed is the 1920’s and was converted into swimming baths in 1938 until finally being converted into housing in the 1990’s.
This historic Victorian property enjoys stunning sea views over Rothesay Bay and is a great base for a variety of holidays inlcuding cycling, walking, fishing and golfing. This home is also an excellent base for a family holiday with easy access into Rothesay, plenty of beaches to explore and outdoor activities to enjoy.
The property expands across two floors and has the additional benefit of a beautiful rooftop terrace where guests can sit and relax and take in the wonderful view.
The ground floor comprises of an exceptionally large lounge and dining room with comfortable seating, electric fire place and wonderfully large windows that provide guests with breathtaking views. The dining table is spacious allowing for all guests to enjoy their meals and spend their evenings socialising and playing games.
The kitchen is just along the hallway from the sitting and features plenty of counter space for meal preparations and is fully fitted with all modern appliances including a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Just after the kitchen is the first of the two front facing double bedrooms. Guests sleeping here can enjoy the magical view from their bed through the statement arch window. Another quirky feature in this room is that it benefits from its own toilet and wash-hand basin. (Please be aware that there is no door between the bedroom and the toilet “en-suite”, rather it is blocked from view by the arch in the bedroom)
Up the stairs guests will find the second front facing double bedroom with built in storage. The third bedroom is the bunk bed room, ideal for children although the beds are large enough for adults to sleep in, as well as built in storage for guests to use. Directly opposite the bunk bed room is a well proportioned family bathroom with separate walk-in “power shower”, bath, toilet and wash basin.
On the upstairs landing is a small set of detachable steps leading to the window. This offers guests the access to the extraordinary roof top terrace where guests to take advantage of the outdoor seating and take-in the stunning views on offer.
The property offers ample storage for bikes and golf clubs and is equipped with plenty of books, DVD’s and games for guests to enjoy as well as satelitte TV and WiFi.
No matter what type of holiday you are looking for, Beattie Court will make an excellent base to explore and experience the wonderful Isle of Bute.

Bathroom: Family bathroom, with bath, walk-in shower, hand basin, and w.c.
Parking: Parking is unrestricted on the road in front of the building.
Roof Terrace: Access to the roof terrace is via the window from the upstairs landing. Children must be accompanied at all times whilst outside on the roof terrace.
Heating/Hot water: Heating, hot water and electricity are included in price.
Bed Linen and Towels: Bed linen and one hand towel and one bath towel per guest is provided; bath mats and hand towels in bathroom provided.
